Hello. I have no legal advice to give here …. but would question temperature checks in general. For instance, if someone has an attack of diverticulitis etc., has been wearing a beanie or ‘face mask’ prior to entering the building ….. these can be of no threat through transmission, and yet are leading you to be ostracised or perhaps discriminated against.
Now if the Government organisation wishes to put you on fully paid leave whilst not retracting your other rights like accrued sick leave, to be on the safe side so be it. There might be no downside to these non-invasive checks if there is no downside to being temporarily stepped down, for you….
But I would counter a raised temperature is NOT proof of a lethal communicable disease, nor of a communicable disease in general and so to make a decision which may hold a downside to you may be ….. questionable?
